Meet Michel from Teach Me How to Vogue
definitely A Blogger To Know.
1. I love the title of your blog, but I am curious to know how you came about it? Is it a reference to 'voguing' or to Vogue?
Originally, the title comes from the song "I am not a robot" by Marina and the Diamonds, which I re-worded to fit the theme of my blog.
Vogue is obviously a huge part of the industry, and I wanted to make my blog accessible and easy to understand for people who don't know much about fashion, so that I could "teach them" about the industry itself (I can also teach you how to 'vogue' the dance, though, if you would like).

2. What made you want to start your blog and where do you plan on taking it?
I've had a tumblr for such a long time, but to me it never seemed like enough. I could never share my opinions about fashion and write lenghty posts for people to appreciate on it, and it seemed all too casual. I had seen other blogspots and got inspired to start one of my own. In terms of the future of my blog, I hope it will lead to some opportunities and open some doors for my future. I also hope people keep stumbling upon it to read and learn more about fashion.
3. What trend, if any, are you most excited about working into your wardrobe for this winter?
There a couple trends for menswear fall/winter 2011 that I would love to incorporate into my wardrobe! There were a lot of oranges hues on the runways - and I barely ever wear orange, I would love to own a good pair of orange jeans. Also stripes, especially darker colors, have been very prevalent on the runways which I intend to be wearing a lot of in the next few months. Splashes of color on pieces of clothing is a trend I thought was very interesting and I wouldn't mind having a few of those as well!
4. After reading your post about style icons, I was left wondering... who is your top style icon?
This is a difficult question! In terms of menswear, I am still looking for someone I can look up to in terms of style inspiration. I suppose I will just have to be my own style icon ;)
5. What is your favorite farm animal?
This question is so random, I love it! I think I would have to go with the cow.
6. What are your hopes for the future?
I don't have a perfect plan for my future, but I hope to somehow be involved in fashion. It all depends where I end up for my post-secondary education, and I believe that everything will unfold itself in time.
